Try again not on your own but on His

But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing, nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” – Luke 5:5

When we experienced failure on the things we had done, it is possibly because we did it on our own or it’s not God’s will for us to do it. If it’s God’s will, God is telling you to do it again, not relying on your own strength but on His and you will experience victory.

  1. nice. short but message delivered well. 🙂

by the way, what does it mean to “not relying on your own strength”? how do we PRACTICALLY apply that?

    1. There are times we do things on our own, we do not seek God through prayers and reading His word, our relationship to Him becomes broken.. Maybe because we are busy or we had sinned. During these times, we feel emptiness and seems some things we are doing will result to failure.

But God is just there, he does not want us to fail, but, it was our decision to go away from Him and do things in our own. Seek God, pray, read His word, listen to Him, raise up all the things you will do to Him, that He will guide you throughout the day. God will encourage you to do it again and with Him, you will achieve victory (or success).

      1. so would it be safe to say that “not doing it in your own strength” is synonymous to “abiding”? just my thoughts 😀
